Meet Our Staff
Steve is a licensed physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer and the founder of ELITE Sports Medicine. Steve attended Missouri State University and earned degrees in Biology, Athletic Training, and Communications. Upon graduation, Steve attended Temple University in Philadelphia where he earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Dr. Hatfield has worked with the Dallas Cowboys professional football team, the U.S. Ski Team, and the Baltimore Orioles organization. In addition, he served as the Medical Director for the Tour of Georgia, and continues to work with professional cyclists. Dr. Hatfield has an extensive background in manual therapy and takes an individual, hands-on approach with his patients. Dr. Hatfield’s goal is to provide patients with outstanding customer service and the most forward thinking, progressive treatment, utilizing leading edge technology and research.
Robert graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. While at Berry College, he was a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team, in which he served as Team Captain, and earned First Team All-American honors. In addition, Robert brings 12 years of experience as personal trainer, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and a Corrective Exercise Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Dr. Burgess strives to provide evidence based care to all of his patients utilizing a personalized approach consisting of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and patient education.
Justin is a licensed physical therapist with an extensive background in manual therapy, corrective exercise, strength and conditioning, and treatment of the geriatric population. Justin played football while earning his undergraduate degree in Biology-Pre Physical Therapy track at Carson-Newman University in 2003. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Physical therapy at Southwest Baptist University in 2005. Using a comprehensive total body treatment approach, Justin has had great success in helping patients of all ages with correcting the source of their musculoskeletal symptoms. His treatment approach consist of various manual therapy techniques and corrective exercise strategies tp ,amo[i;ate tje bop [jusocs pf tje bpdu/ With a passion for transforming traditional medical paradigms, Justin consults with local high school programs about injury prevention and has developed injury prevention programs for runners, gymnasts, dancers, throwing athletes, and weight lifters.
Karl earned degrees from Young Harris College, and Georgia College & State University. While at Young Harris College, he was a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team. Karl is an Athletic Trainer and is experienced with athletes from students to professionals. As an Athletic Trainer, Karl focuses on strength and conditioning, injury management & prevention, concussion management & prevention, and return to play protocols. Karl’s goal is to assist you in reaching your maximum potential, and helping you to quickly and safely return to competition.
Adrienne serves as the office manager and marketing coordinator at Elite. She thrives daily to exceed your expections and maintain the highest level of customer service possible for all current and prospective patients. She has extensive experience in medical billing and is eager to make the process of getting and/or continuing treatment as easy as possible for our patients.
Shannon is a senior at the University of Georgia majoring in Biology. She is expected to graduate in the spring of 2016 and aspires to continue her graduate education with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Shannon is an integral part of the ELITE Sports Medicine Team working as a Physical Therapy Technician, in addition to multiple administrative and front office responsibilities. As an advocate for the patient, Shannon delivers exceptional customer service, assistance, knowledge, and communication for your visit.
