Dr. Steve Hatfield, PT, ATC, Founder

Steve is a licensed physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer and the founder of ELITE Sports Medicine. Steve attended Missouri State University and earned degrees in Biology, Athletic Training, and Communications. Upon graduation, Steve attended Temple University in Philadelphia where he earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Dr. Hatfield has worked with the Dallas Cowboys professional football team, the U.S. Ski Team, and the Baltimore Orioles organization. In addition, he served as the Medical Director for the Tour of Georgia, and continues to work with professional cyclists. Dr. Hatfield has an extensive background in manual therapy and takes an individual, hands-on approach with his patients. Dr. Hatfield’s goal is to provide patients with outstanding customer service and the most forward thinking, progressive treatment, utilizing leading edge technology and research.

Adrienne Hinton, B.S. Ed., Practice Administrator

Adrienne serves as the office manager and marketing coordinator at Elite. She thrives daily to exceed your expections and maintain the highest level of customer service possible for all current and prospective patients.

Adrienne has extensive experience in medical billing and is eager to make the process of getting and/or continuing treatment as easy as possible for our patients.

Jill Collins, DPT, Clinic Director

Jill Collins is a licensed Physical Therapist primarily at our Hamilton Mill location. Jill graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, and went on to earn her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, CA. Jill is certified in Myofascial Manipulation and Dry Needling which she performs regularly to supplement her treatments in the clinic. Jill is experienced in working with a wide variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, but especially enjoys working with young athletes and highly motivated adults that want to return to their optimal level of function. Jill is a former soccer player and is now a distance runner, so she especially enjoys working with runners and endurance athletes. Dr. Collins’ goal is to give every patient an individualized treatment plan to not only improve their symptoms, but to also get to the root of the problem and prevent future problems. 

Kim Zalewski, Front Office

Kim is a dedicated Front Office Receptionist at Elite Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy, with a true passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service. With prior experience as an Occupational Therapist and Secretary for Mill Creek Youth Football, Kim brings a unique blend of healthcare knowledge and administrative expertise to her role, ensuring clients feel supported and cared for at every step of their journey.

Her friendly demeanor and organizational skills make her an invaluable asset to the team, as she efficiently manages appointments,  addresses patient needs, and creates a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the door.

Outside of work, Kim is happily married to her husband, Pat, and is a proud mother to three wonderful children: Rachel, Garrett, and Caleb. She cherishes her family and loves spending time with them whenever possible.

Kim’s commitment to providing exceptional service and creating positive experiences makes her an integral part of the Elite Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy team, as she continues to make a difference in the lives of both patients and colleagues.

Reece Thompson, Physical Therapy Tech

Alex Parks, Athletic Trainer

Alex is a Buford High School Alumni who began working alongside Steve when she was 14 years old. She graduated from The University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Education in Athletic Training. She previously was the head Athletic Trainer at Winder-Barrow High School and joined our team in January 2023. In her free time, she enjoys doing DIY projects and gardening. She says, “having the opportunity to rejoin the community I grew up in and being able to serve others is truly a dream come true! I enjoy seeing new and familiar faces come into the clinic and love helping everyone get back to their best selves.”

Mel Williams

Mel is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a background in personal training and human performance. Graduating in 2013 from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Mel used his ACSM Health and Fitness Specialist certification to help people achieve their fullest movement potential. He has worked with clients of all sorts ranging from joint replacements, metabolic diseases, and athletes looking to improve speed, power, and agility. Along with knowledge in physiology and exercise, he also has an extensive background in the supplement industry and is always staying up on cutting edge research and techniques. In his pursuit to better serve others, Mel worked at Elite Sports Medicine from 2018-2020 as a Physical Therapy Technician before receiving his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2023.

When not in the clinic, Mel is a family man, spending time with his beautiful wife, 15-year-old daughter, and 8-year-old son. “Ultimately it is about changing lives through quality care, trust, and compassion. I am grateful for all my experiences thus far, and excited to dedicate a lifelong journey of educating, advocating, and improving individuals’ quality of life and confidence through functional movement.”
